Go Girl is the new ultra feminine drink from California that is specifically designed for women. By drinking Go Girl you are also helping others by contributing to breast cancer research with every purchase. Go Girl is distributed in Northern and Southern California and plans a national rollout over the next year.
Before we even get started, yes, I drank this in the privacy of my own home. And if I choose to drink a tall hot pink can of hot pink energy soda in the privacy of my own home, then that's my business. After all, since it has 1200mg of taurine, 150mg of inositol, and 150mg of caffeine it's probably more man than your favorite energy drink (cough...red bull...cough) will ever be.
The taste is good, particularly for a sugar free beverage. The taste is something like mixing diet coke with a cherry flavored Icee. I was very pleased. It tastes exceptional when served iced cold.
No doubt on the energy. I had plenty of energy to get through the day at work, beat up the construction workers that were whistling at me, cook dinner, fold the clothes, mow the lawn, birth a litter of alpacas, raise a barn, and get my nails done before watching "So You Think You Can Dance" on the Tivo. Lots of the right stuff in the can, and I was pleased.
At $1.69/12oz., this is pretty close on the $/oz. ratio of the industry standard $1.99/16oz. Since the taste is good, it's sugar free, offers a sporty feminine look for women-on-the-go, lots of energy, and some of the proceeds go to breast cancer research, I'll still give it a better than average value rating as well.
The one drawback is the color, it's intense, so it can make your teeth slightly pink as well.
Go Girl is super feminine, and made me feel very dainty drinking it. The great news is that it contains less that 3 calories in the whole can, so I can really enjoy Go Girl knowing it isn't loaded with sugar to give it that great taste. I was a bit disappointed that the flavor was not bubble gum or cotton candy as I think that would've been super girly, but the cherry flavor was just fine. This drink is only $1.69 which isn't terrible, though I think it would be great if the standard energy drink size came up to join Go Girl at 12oz rather than the usual 8oz. The only thing this drink is missing is a tiara or maybe a Bedazzler for that extra bling that girl really needs.
