Monster Rehab Tea Plus Orangeade

A Fair & Honest Energy Drink Review

Monster Rehab Tea Plus Orangeade Retail Package Description

Monster Rehab Tea Plus Orangeade Plus Energy has a can like the other Monster Rehab flavors, mostly black with a big colored area in the cernter, comprised of what looks like rough oil on canvas brush strokes. This particular can is black and orange. The center of the can features the now famous Monster "claw" logo in black, underneath, "Monster" in white, with "Rehab" in orange and "Tea + Orangeade + Energy" in white/orange at the bottom. Other text around the rim reads, "Quercetin, Refresh, Rehydrate, Revive, Electrolytes". On the front, "10 Calories", "Non Carbonated".

Then there's the Monster marketing text on the back, "We know a good thing when we got one. Our original Rehab is killin it with the drinkers who want something different in an "energy drink". Something refreshing, great tasting that still gets the job done. Rehab Tea Orangeade Energy combines the goodness of orange juice, anti-oxidant rich tea and our proprietary Rehab energy blend to deliver a triple threat that quenches thirst, hydrates like a sports drink, and brings you back after a hard day's night. Monster Rehab Tea Orangeade Energy REFRESH, REHYDRATE, RE-VIVE or in other words, Re-habilitate, with a killer mix of tea, orangeade, electrolytes, and our bad-ass Monster Rehab energy blend to fire you up."

Caffeine Addict's Monster Rehab Tea Plus Orangeade Review

I'm in the process of reviewing sports/fitness energy drinks, but if I don't review a Monster product for every fifth review, the Monster fanboy trolls stop coming to write disparaging comments. So, here we are doing an obligatory Monster Energy review for the exclusively Monster-drinking percentage of the populous.

Rehab flavors are as prolific rabbit droppings, but to my knowledge, this is the last of the unreviewed flavors, and like Vanessa Williams, we went and saved the best for last. Well, sort of, I'd say this is as about good as the original lemonade tea flavor. Orangeade tea isn't a groundbreaking flavor, in fact, it tastes just like orange Gatorade to me, which is fine, since Orange Gatorade is delicious.

Like the other Rehab Teas, the back has a smattering of some text about how awesome Rehab is. Thankfully this time they left out the mess about Vegas pool parties that no one cares about, unfortunately they replaced it with a showering of self-praise, something at which they are becoming quite adept. I guess no one reminded them recently that they sell caffeinated water, same as everybody else. This Rehab Orangeade is as effective as any of the other Rehab Teas, which I'd rank between above average and good, but certainly not above good. Something along the lines of avergood or goodrage.

Quite honestly, we're just tired of reviewing Rehab Teas. Even though I like this one, I'd personally drop it, along the Protean and Rojo Teas. I can't imagine anyone who buys Orangeade being completely averse to the original Tea Lemonade. I didn't particularly like the Green Tea, mostly because of it has a nondescript, but somewhat earthy flavor, but at least it represents a reasonable deviation from the original. The chalky Protean pretty much just takes up space in C-store refrigerator units. I'm the only person I've ever seen drinking one.

Concerning Orangeade, it's fine, I'd tell you to buy one, but I don't want you to encourage Monster to make any more flavors needlessly. Here's an idea for Monster, if you're so gung-ho about making new flavors, try making a new sugar-laden soda flavor, you know, the product on which you're entire empire is built, but a product on which you've only every half-heartedly expanded with flavors like Assault and Dub Edition, one of which I'll do the justice of calling a different flavor, even if it was bad.

Energy Junkie's Monster Rehab Tea Plus Orangeade Review

I've know Jason for many years, and I remember when Monster first came out. He would stand in the line at stores and ask people why they were paying $2 for an 8.3oz. Red Bull when you could by 2 16oz. Monsters for $3. Most people would respond that they've never tried it, but Red Bull works fine for them. After some assuring words from Jason on the effectiveness and taste, they'd put back the Red Bull and get a couple of Monsters. This happened frequently, you'd have thought he was a Monster sales rep. Jason has probably done more for Monster than most of their employees.

I join Jason in tiring of two things,

1) The exhausting expansion of new product lines, which were awesome when they first came out, but then get run into the ground.
a.) Without offering other significantly different flavors of the original Monster Energy Drink.
b) Every soda is just some minor change on the original (Ubermonster, Dub Edition, Import, etc)

2) They're almost as bad as Obama at patting themselves on that back. At least Monster has done something to deserve some accolades, but as Obama will tell them, there's no need to brag, because "You didn't build that".

So, let's drudge our way through another Monster Rehab Energy Tea review.

This drink is refreshing and thirst quenching, no doubt about it. On a hot summer day, I could probably dispose of one of these in about 10 seconds. Unlike Jason, I prefer this one slightly to the lemonade. I can taste the artificial sweetener in the lemonade more, but the difference is so negligible, when I found these 2/$3 at Riteaid, I got one Orangeade and one Lemonade. I can taste the orange, even though it only contains 3% juice. I don't taste a great deal of tea, it really just tastes like lightly-flavored orange drink.

I think it's plenty energizing, just like most of the other 30 or so Monster Energy products, and is a pretty good buy at 2/$3.
