They are clear that it's "From Mountain Dew", assuming that "Mountain Dew" is some remote island where all the xtreme sports stars are enslaved to make sodas. The can features a sweet light to dark green vertical fade...which is so xtreme. They also clarify that this product is not for children...and Mountain Dew is?
This soda has always been entirely too syrupy for me. It's like drinking tree sap. The taste is pretty good otherwise, liken to condensed Mountain Dew. I'd imagine it would be good served over pancakes, but it's not an enjoyable beverage for me. I also get very little out of it in the way of energy. I feel like the energy is mostly from the sugar, though it does host an impressive list of "energizing" ingredients in undisclosed amounts.
On a closing note, the logo and can are both pretty cool. I do feel "xtreme" when drinking it.

Please note, this is the 2005 version of AMP, the 8.3oz which existed before Mountain Dew MDX came and went. I believe the new AMP, which is 16oz. is also a new formula.
I've always thought of this as the mini wannaba Monster. I enjoy the flavor, but you really have to get it when it's nice and cold because it gets thick fast. The energy level is decent, but it could be better. I think you get a bit of a kick in the beginning, but it doesn't have much going for it besides a bunch of sugar.
