Do you need an energy boost but you're tired of heavy, syrupy, sugary energy? Well then Twinlab has got something for you. Twinlab Energy Fuel is a 'high performance drink' that offers an energizing blend of B vitamins, taurine, caffeine, and ginseng. Even though Energy Fuel is packed full of energizing ingredients, it doesn't have any calories, fat, carbohydrates, or sugar!
Twinlab, makers of popular nutrition products ripped fuel, metabolift, and mass fuel, have thrown their hat into the energy drink arena. Since I'm familiar with their other energy products, I had no doubt that this beverage would live up to expectation in that area, but how would it taste? Surprisingly, very good. My problem with most sugar free sodas is the aftertaste, which this soda has virtually none. I found it to be a smooth sailing, pleasant tasting experience. It has a light citrus flavor, that goes down very crisply and smoothly, particularly when served iced cold. The particular citrus flavor is hard to identify, it's certainly doesn't taste like orange to me, but perhaps more pineapple. The great part for me is that the flavor is not overpowering, nor is the soda thick (it also doesn't get thick when it starts to warm, as most sugared sodas do).
As for energy, as mentioned above, these guys make dietary supplements used by those big bulging guys on television, I think they can make something to help the average Joe get through his or her day at school or work. The only problem you might have will be remaining docile enough to not explode out of your desk like "The Incredible Hulk" TM might.
As for value, they score big here too, ranging in price from .99 to 1.29, and available at Target stores in 4-packs, Twinlab Energy Fuel beats almost all 8.4 oz. sodas here too.
I'll have to say I was surprised that it wasn't orange flavored given the color of the can. I guess I'm just one of those people who reads the text after I take the first sip. Energy Fuel is a really great tasting beverage. I'm not sure that it tastes like fruit splash, but it doesn't taste like orange either. There is a slight hint of the artificial sweetener taste to it, but its not overpowering, and what can you expect, I mean your drinking something without carbs, calories, fat, or sugar, you really have to give a little. It's very light and refreshing and goes down smoothly. Perhaps too smoothly, because I tore through a four pack in no time. I would love to see a 16oz version of these hit the stores.
I really think I like the outlines of the people on the can. That makes me want to drink it more. Because they are doing such fun activities, and in my mind I picture myself jumping and doing cartwheels, even though I'm really just going back to work. Also the price tag is very pleasing. We got these in a four pack, but they average out to about 1.29 each. What a great deal. So now I don't feel bad about drinking so many of them. We got these at Target but GNC-like stores also carry them.
