Killer Buzz Energy Drink, the regular one, with sugar, comes in a can very similar to Killer Buzz Sugar Free, only the green and purple are reversed, and the awkward "Sugar Free" doesn't appear on the beeish logo.
I'm here to talk about the carbohydrated version of Killer Buzz, but with the events so many of us watched unfold on the screen this past weekend, I can't help but say how proud I am to be an American. Millions here in the states and around the world celebrated with me as a handful of America's finest stormed a secret compound with a common goal, to bring a criminal to justice, but more importantly, to settle a score, they carried out this seemingly impossible plan with surgical precision. So, I hope you'll join me in saluting, Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and anyone else involved in making "Fast 5", which I'd argue should be called "National Treasure" if Nicholas Cage hadn't already done a "Gone in 60 Seconds"-style crap all over that title. Before this weekend, my 3 favorite movies were the Lord of the Rings series in this order. After this weekend, I've been forced to condense the trilogy into one movie, which I've placed in the #3 slot, leaving room for Fast 5 in the #1 and #2 positions, allowing for additional buffer between a first place Fast 5, and the comparatively grotty Lord of the Rings Series. This condensing of the series also allows me to leave "Tooth Fairy" undisturbed at #4.
So, compared to Killer Buzz Sugar free, there's some good news and bad news. I know you like your dessert first. SO, Killer Buzz actually tastes like honey. This is a revelation I did not have with the sugar free version. The honey flavor isn't overbearing, allowing for the drink to remain refreshing, but the taste is pronounced, giving Killer Buzz a distinctive flavor quality. It also makes for a great brand tie-in. Additionally, it's just as energizing, and is available for the same great $1.99/16oz. price. Now for the veggies, 110 calories and 27g of sugar (while respectable compared to other sugary drinks) is a far cry from the 10 calorie drinkable, but not particularly enjoyable offering of the the sugar free. So, with swimsuit season coming up, if you want people to admire your skeletal curves, like emaciated Fast 5 stars Jordana Brewster and Gal Gadot, better reach for the sugar free and some Dulcolax.
I still don't like the can. What I do like is the taste. I want to go back now and lower the taste rating on the sugar free to indicate how good the regular is. It's the beginning of May here in the south, and my backyard is field of green, white and yellow honeysuckle. Killer Buzz regular reminds me of the mild flavor of the liquid from the honeysuckle flower. Not the berries...the berries are usually poisonous. This leads me to believe that hummingbirds may also love Killer Buzz, since they can't seem to get enough of the honeysuckle. Then I thought, if anything has more energy than a giant hornet, it has to be a hummingbird.
Moral of the story, everything with lots of energy craves that sweet, sweet honey: giant hornets, hummingbirds, bears, David Moscow...Maybe there's something to this Killer Buzz "giant hornet" blah blah blah. It's about the same on energy, I'm not so over-energized I want to ram my head through the drywall, but I'm also not constantly struggling to stay awake, like when I drive anywhere that's more than 5 miles away.
Both Killer Buzz drinks are above average. The cans are unsightly. This one is particularly tasty.
