If you go into any Health or Fitness store to buy vitamins or supplements you might've seen Xyience all over the store. That's because Xyience offers so many products for their consumers. Included flavored creatine, nitric oxide boosters, chitosan supplements as well as many other dietary supplements that I have no idea what they do. But if you are looking for a fat burner, a weight gainer, or weight loser, or joint soother, or even an 'xtreme muscle meal' Xyience has something specifically formulated for you. So when I pick up an Energy Drink from them I certainly expect nothing but the best.
The can is very appealing with its Asian letters on the front and very Zen like colors. It is a premium sugar free zero calorie energy drink, meant for focus, vitality, and endurance.
Xyience Cran Razz tastes pretty good, as it should for $2.79. Though this is the official drink of the UFC, drinking it did not make me hurt anyone. I was afraid my testosterone might naturally skyrocket, like Floyd Landis, assume some zoomorphic form and pluck the head off a kindly old woman in the grocery store line. To my knowledge, that did not happen.
The Xyience Cran Razz tastes pretty tart, and is refreshing. An interesting note, having already tasted other flavors, all the Xyience drinks have a similar base flavor. If you don't know what I'm talking about, think of every Gatorade you've ever had. They all have that same underlying flavor with a more pleasant, more robust flavor added. Like Gatorade, this is more apparent in the aftertaste, but did not seriously detract from my enjoyment of this soda.
Like Twinlab Energy Fuel and Twinlab's line of fine competitive body builder products, I expected nothing less than a energy packed beverage from Xyience and their line of fine competitive combatant energy drinks. I was satisfied. If I weren't currently using my thumbs to gouge the eyes of the kindly old woman at the grocery store, I'd give this drink two thumbs up.
At $2.79, I wouldn't consider a 3 liter of Tanqueray a great value, unless it came in a uber cool glowing can like Radioactive Energy. Of course, anything that doesn't come in a glowing can, is just schwag.
Xyience is the official drink for the Ultimate Fighting Championships. If you don't know what this is then you must be working too hard or living in a cave. UFC is like extreme boxing. Fighters enter a circular or octagonal shaped fighting cage and duke it out by any means necessary. No they do not hit each other with chairs, but they do a combination of boxing, kickboxing, and submission holds to bring the opponent down. It is quite amazing.
So when I drink this energy drink I can't help but want to crush the can in a fit of fury and grunt loudly and nonsensically. Needless to say, I feel pumped up after drinking this. This is a very good tasting beverage. I was a little thrown off with the Cran/Razz flavor combination as I'm not a huge fan of berry flavored beverages. All in all a very well rounded energizing drink. Considering it is calorie free I certainly don't feel limited to one. My only concern would be the whopping 400mg of sodium in this can. Not that I monitor my own sodium intake but those who might do so should be forewarned. Ounce for ounce Hype still has the highest sodium content with 250mg in an 8oz can.
